Spotted: Landing on worst-dressed lists everywhere for the recent Golden Globe awards, GG's Blake Lively wearing a (too)tight-fitting beaded satin gown with a thigh-high slit. Very tacky beauty pageant contestant of her, and she even forgot to do her hair. Looks like S needs a little advice on how to pull off a red carpet dress.
On the other hand, I just have to say that Eva Mendes looked so glamorous. I love the turquoise neckpiece she wore with the white Dior dress. I remember Cameron Diaz also wore turquoise jewelry paired with a Dior gown as well in a red carpet moment in 2007. If I'm not mistaken, they're both clients of Rachel Zoe's. Blake could've used something a little more fun like these looks.

Luella Love
tank top from a bazaar, thrifted tiered skirt, Melissa wedge shoes
I was feelin' a little girly the other night when I met some friends for drinks. I'm a big fan of accessorizing but that night I just left my thrifted tiered skirt do all the talking, I actually just altered the waistband so it'll be high-waist. Despite the lovely chilly weather which tempted me to go for a cold weather-ish outfit that we rarely get to sport around here, I still went for the tank and skirt and just brought a cardigan along.
This skirt reminds me of some dresses from Luella's spring 08 collection, which seems to be stamped in my head. I've always loved Luella Bartley's street-chic stuff probably because of the Betsey Johnson in me, it's always pretty with a little punk.
Her spring 09 collection is just as fab, featuring some ruffled short dresses as well but with a little play on asymmetry and pops of color all over. The shoes and accessories in this collection are all so cute especially the head bows with the net. Hmm... I see a DIY project coming. ;)

Sketchy charactaers
Henry Holland came out with cheeky new t-shirts showing off sketches of some fashion figures in the nude. His old block letter prints from the 80s have been copied to death here in Manila, not even funny anymore. I love the Alber shirt, he's so adorable.

Graffiti kicks
Last week I passed by this narrow side street somewhere in the city where I found this huge wall covered with graffiti. It was actually the first time I saw a graffiti that huge and colorful here in Manila, and I was really amused. I couldn't get a good picture of the whole wall because the car was too close to the wall and I had to hurry since there were cars behind us. It's kinda funny coz the message in the thought bubble is asking people to not piss on the wall. I wish I'd see more colorful graffiti around here with well-meaning messages like this haha
My favorite graffiti artist is Fafi. I love her colorful and girly artworks, always a little naughty and with a tinge of darkness. I rarely wear sneakers but I still kick myself for not buying a pair from the Fafi x adidas line she did. A couple of months back, I was inspired to doodle on a pair of plain white slip-ons I bought specifically to test some washproof markers I got. Of course, I just had to put a Fafinette in there.

Shopaholic stylist du jour
Patricia Field is at it again. After 300 costume changes worth of mega fashion overdose in last year's Sex and the City movie, she dresses yet another shopaholic that puts Carrie's obsessive shopping to shame. Meet Rebecca Bloomwood, played by Isla Fisher in Confessions of a Shopaholic. It's gonna be out next month and I can't wait. I bet it's gonna be better than the book with all the yummy fashion eye candy.

Blonde pixie cut, or not...
Last year was one hell of a roller coaster ride for me. I come out of it stronger and definitely wiser, despite the scars and bruises. I'm determined to make 2009 a rockin' year, with tons of creativity, productivity and positivity. I think I'll start it off with a beauty makeover. I wanna look like Agyness, my fave overexposed model of '08/thinspiration.
Right, like I have the guts to chop off and bleach out my long brown hair. I still have to think of something a little less drastic. I do heart Agyness so much though, especially her personal style, her accent, her own brand of cool. Why oh why wasn't I born british, blonde, and long-legged? Oh I forgot, my number one new year resolution, no more whining!
